Redfield Energy Adopts Whitefox ICE® Plus for
Profitability and Sustainability Gains

Redfield, South Dakota, January 15, 2026 – Whitefox Technologies is pleased to announce the successful installation of its Whitefox ICE® Plus membrane dehydration system at Redfield Energy, LLC, marking the first ICE Plus installation in the United States. The new system enables Redfield Energy to increase ethanol production while using less resources, advancing their goal of lowering carbon emissions.

“The Whitefox system has significantly optimized our plant operations by increasing production capacity and boosting efficiency, both of which positively impact our bottom line,” said Eric Baukol, CEO of Redfield Energy. “This technology represents a critical milestone in positioning Redfield for long-term success and advancing our commitment to reducing our energy consumption”.

The Whitefox ICE Plus system works alongside Redfield’s existing dehydration technology, delivering significant performance benefits including a 7.5 million gallon per year capacity increase, steam and cooling water consumption reduction, and deloading of their molecular sieve infrastructure by 60%.

By debottlenecking the plant’s dehydration, distillation, and evaporation (DD&E) unit operations, the solution drives major operational benefits, enhancing efficiency and boosting profitability. As ethanol producers look to future-ready solutions, this project represents an important step in Redfield’s strategy to unlock greater efficiencies.

“Whitefox ICE Plus was developed to meet ethanol producers’ need for greater energy savings on the journey to Net Zero. By working alongside existing molecular sieves, it extends their life while driving significant efficiency and emissions improvements,” said Dr. Stephan Blum, Chief Technology Officer of Whitefox Technologies. “This collaboration with Redfield showcases how advanced membrane technology can optimize plant performance and support sustainable growth.”

Whitefox ICE® Plus is a proprietary membrane dehydration system engineered to optimize distillation, rebalance evaporation, and shift part of molecular sieve (MSU) dehydration to membranes. This approach can reduce natural gas consumption in a conventional ethanol plant by up to 30% and increase plant capacity by 25–50%. The system is designed as a proven, upgradeable platform that can be expanded to Whitefox ICE® XL, which fully replaces existing molecular sieve systems and can save up to 50% natural gas use.

ABOUT Redfield energy LLc

At Redfield, our mission is to operate a profitable and innovative ethanol facility, be the preferred market for locally grown corn, and provide a quality feed product. In April 2007, Redfield Energy became operational as a dry mill plant. It has the space to process approximately 25 million bushels of corn into 75 million gallons of ethanol per year. Approximately 230,000 tons of modified wet and dry distillers grain is produced and sold to local markets.
